Marquette's second season was marked by the appearance of new coach, [[Jack Ryan]] and the beginning of the Marquette-[[UW-Madison]] series.  Badger [[Bill Chandler]], who later coached at Marquette, converted a free throw in the game's final second to give the Wisconsinites a 15-14 triumph.
