High School Career

Dwight played two years at Christina High School in Delaware and one year at Rice in New York, before attending Saint Benedict's. Burke was ranked as one of the nation's top 50 fifth year players. He averaged 9.2 points, 8.8 rebounds and 3.5 blocks and shot a team best 61.0% from the field in helping lead St. Benedict's to a 26-1 record and the New Jersey state prep school championship. Burke originally signed a letter of intent with East Carolina in November 2004.

2005-06

Dwight played in 20 games, averaging 5.3 minutes per game. In his Marquette debut, he came off the bench and made both of his free throw attempts and grabbed one rebound against Eastern Washington on November 23rd. He played eight minutes against South Dakota State on December 3rd, tallying two rebounds and two points. Burke played six minutes against Delaware State on December 22nd and against Lewis on December 28th. He registered a career-high three points against #2 Connecticut on January 3rd, coming off the bench to tally a layup 13 seconds into the game. He played nine minutes at Seton Hall on January 11th.

Burke grabbed three rebounds in five minutes of play at #16/23 West Virginia on January 14th. He saw playing time for the first time in three games against Saint John's on February 1st, playing five minutes. Dwight saw 11 minutes of action at Villanova on February 4th and registered a point for the first time in eight games at Rutgers on February 12th. He saw six minutes of action in back-to-back games, grabbing one rebound against Pittsburgh on February 18th. He played 12 minutes against Providence on March 4th, contributing two points and three boards.

2006-07

Dwight made his only field goal attempt against Hillsdale on November 10th. He blocked two shots in four minutes against Detroit on November 13th. He played 12 minutes, scoring three points against Eastern Michigan on November 18th. He scored four points and three rebounds against Texas Tech on November 20th. Dwight had three rebounds against North Dakota State on December 2nd. He logged 17 minutes and grabbed three rebounds and tied a career-high with two blocks against UMBC on December 16th. In 18 minutes, he grabbed five rebounds against Syracuse on January 7th and scored five points, grabbed seven rebounds and played 23 minutes against Connecticut on January 7th.

He scored five points and grabbed four rebounds in 13 minutes vs. West Virginia on January 13th and had two points and three rebounds in ten minutes at Pittsburgh on January 21st. Dwight scored two points and grabbed two points in eight minutes vs. Seton Hall on January 24th and grabbed four rebounds in 11 minutes vs. South Florida on January 28th. He came off the bench and scored five points in 19 minutes against Notre Dame on February 24th.

Personal

Dwight is the son of Anthony Burke and Wendy Nurse. He has three brothers- Reece, Isiah and Elijah and four sisters- Tomica, Jasmyn, Anissa and Kayla. He majors in communications studies.
